HISTORY

Liberty has had a presence in Vietnam since 2003 when Liberty Mutual Group opened its first representative office in Hanoi.

During the November 2006 APEC meeting, we were officially awarded the investment license to operate a 100% U.S.-owned general insurer in Vietnam.

As a leading global insurer, Liberty is committed to protecting businesses and families in Vietnam with our locally customized insurance products.

On April 24th, 2007, Liberty Mutual announced the establishment of The Liberty Mutual SafeWork Collaborating Center at the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (under the Ministry of Health) with US$ 150,000 in funding. Its purpose is to research and implement projects that improve worker safety and reduce occupational injuries in Vietnam.

As of January 11, 2008, upon approval by the Ministry of Finance, Liberty now provides insurance services directly to Vietnamese individuals and state owned enterprises and motor insurance including compulsory public liability. This is in addition to its existing license to sell insurance to all forms of commercial enterprises in Vietnam.
